Where: Italy (40.1° N, 8.5° E: paleocoordinates 33.6° N, 5.8° E)

When: Calcari di Melissano Formation, Campanian (83.6 - 72.1 Ma)

• latest Campanian, the layer in which the fossils were found about 10 cm thick

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: limestone

• a layer of millimetric laminar limestone of a thickness of about 10 cm (five other layers described, all limestone)

Size class: macrofossils

Collection methods: For all layers excavated, rock was dug to a depth of about 90 cm, on an excavation front of 5 m.
