• Age range of formation is Givetian to early Frasnian (ref. 8780). However, the bulk is Givetian.

Environment/lithology: marine; sandstone and silty claystone

• BA 3; fossils occur chaotically in sst; subtidal, rough water
• Formation in general: "In the type area, the Fm. consists of fine-to-med.-gr sst. and of two layers with prevailing silty clayst (one of them at the bottom of unit). Towards the east, the silty-argillaceous layers wedge out and the sst become prevalently cross-bedded."
