Martin Bridge Limestone - Spring Creek locality (Triassic of the United States)

Where: Oregon (45.1° N, 116.8° W: paleocoordinates 19.3° N, 53.0° W)

• coordinate estimated from map

• small collection-level geographic resolution

When: Martin Bridge Limestone Formation, Lacian (221.5 - 215.6 Ma)

• Martin Bridge overlies the Seven Devils Group

•JA: originally entered as Norian but "earliest Norian" (= Lacian) according to the author based on the presence of Tropiceltites columbianus in this unit

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: shallow subtidal; peloidal, shelly/skeletal grainstone and peloidal, shelly/skeletal wackestone

• two alternating lithofacies: 1st consists of grain-supported pelbiosparites with local pelbiomicrites (fossils are sparse), 2nd consists of grain-supported biopelsparrudites forming lensoid lag concentrations with subordinate biopelmicrudites (rich in fossils)

Size class: macrofossils

Preservation: replaced with silica

Collection methods: chemical

• material is from U.S. Geological Survey Mesozoic collection M2672 made by Trace Vallier in 1964
