• N.B. the unit currently is not defined formally...the term Leitha Limestone is used in a purely descriptive manner. Primary lithology: framestone Fossils collected from primary lithology

Environment/lithology: shallow subtidal; sandy, calcareous limestone

• Study examined one outcrop microfaies associated with coral unit, near top of sequence. Studied unit divided into 3 sequnces with 10 coral intervals.
• The quarry consists of two levels, a lower level with a deeper water facies and an upper level with the coral facies...The upper outcrop is divided into three conspicuous sequences. Three marly layers define a distinct sequence in the central part of the outcrop that is clearly separable form the over- and underlying sequences that lack marls. Coral framestones occur in the upper and lower sequences while the middle sequences is characterized by coral fragments only.
