• Lower part of section. Succession of organic mudstone beds of lare Relizian and Luisian (middle Miocene) age that are conformable above the Lompico Sandstone. Up to 600 m thick.

Environment/lithology: coastal; poorly lithified, dolomitic, gray, cherty/siliceous mudstone and sandy siltstone

• Medium- to thick-bedded and laminated olive-gray subsiliceous organic mudstone and sandy siltstone with few dolomite interbeds.
