When: Xikuangshan Formation, Early/Lower Famennian (376.1 - 370.6 Ma)

• This section cannot be dated with conodonts. Lower Xikuangshan Fmn has two brachiopod zones (Yunnanella and Yunnanellina), which are thought to correlated with crepida conodont zone (early Famennian). (NB units 5 to 11 are covered in this section; 11 is highest, 5 is lowest.)
