• mid to late Famennian

Environment/lithology: marine; siliciclastic sediments and gray, silty limestone

• Ref. 10952: Allocthonous deposits. General geological setting interpreted as island arc, in which shelly fossiliferous units represent carbonate banks and reefs. In some places these are associated with plant-bearing or graptolite-bearing shales.
• Ref. 10953: "The P.R. Fmn [is] a sequence of interbedded greywacke, conglomerate, siltstone, shale and minor limestone. The sequence is rich in volcanic detritus and has numerous pillow basalt flows, tuffs, and volcanic breccias...The brachiopods...occur in a silty limestone about 15m thick that, in some localities...is clearly overlain by calcareous tuff, pillow basalt and basaltic breccia. The thinly bedded slabby limestone is medium gray to medium dark gray where fresh and weathers to a light olive gray."
