Where: England, United Kingdom (50.7° N, 1.5° W: paleocoordinates 49.2° N, 5.3° W)
• coordinate estimated from map
• local area-level geographic resolution
When: Bembridge Marls Formation, Late/Upper Eocene (37.2 - 33.9 Ma)
• Forbes doesn't give a thickness of these beds. He uses a different numbering system with the units at this locality than ones he uses at other localities (numbers vs. letters), for this locality he doesn't even give bed thicknesses, making them difficult to correlate. He does begin the sequence at this locality with the "Black Band" with which he ended the series of Hempstead series.
• bed-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: concretionary marl and shelly/skeletal marl
Size class: macrofossils
