Also known as Is-DF-25-55

Where: Japan (24.5° N, 124.3° E: paleocoordinates 28.9° N, 121.3° E)

• coordinate estimated from map

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Miyara Formation, Middle Eocene (47.8 - 37.7 Ma)

• Conglomerate bed in bedded volcanics. The Miyara Formation rests on the eerosional surface of an intensely folded Paleozoic formation, and is overlain by the Miocene Yaeyama coal-bearing group. Foraminifera support an upper Eocene age, while molluscs confirm a middle Miocene age

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: coastal; pebbly, gray, green, argillaceous, sandy, calcareous conglomerate

• Conglomerate of subrounded to rounded pebbles derived from the Ishigaki Group embedded in a gray, greenish-gray, reddish-brown or tan sandy, clayey, or limey matrix
