Sister taxa: Mongolemys reshetovi, Mongolemys tatarinovi, Mongolemys turfanensis

Type specimen: PIN 551-422/1 (=ZIN RN T/M-46.1), a shell. Its type locality is Tsagan Hushu, tortoise layer [PMPE], which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial sandstone in the Nemegt Formation of Mongolia.

Ecology: aquatic omnivore

Distribution:

• Cretaceous of Mongolia (4 collections)

Total: 4 collections each including a single occurrence
