Ennatosaurus tecton was named by Efremov (1956). Its type specimen is PIN 1580/17, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Moroznitsa, PIN 1580, which is in a Kazanian/Urzhumian terrestrial horizon in the Russian Federation.
