Trichasaurus texensis
Taxonomy
Trispondylus texensis was named by Williston (1910). Its type specimen is CNHM (FMNH) 652, a set of postcrania (part of the vertebral column, pelvis, some limb and foot elements), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Craddock Bonebed, Brush Creek, 38 (Arroyo Formation), which is in a Kungurian terrestrial claystone/sandstone in the Arroyo Formation of Texas. It is the type species of Trichasaurus.
It was recombined as Trichasaurus texensis by Williston (1913), Hay (1930), Romer and Price (1940), Olson (1968), Reisz (1986).
