It was assigned to Dinocephalia by Boonstra (1969); to Anteosauroidea by King (1988); to Titanosuchia by Haughton and Brink (1954), Kemp (1982), Carroll (1988); to Dinocephalia by Kuhn (1946), Rubidge (1991); and to Titanosuchoidea by Ivakhnenko (2003).
