It was assigned to Chamacea by Glenn (1904), Newell (1965), Vokes (1980), Dockery (1982), Ward and Blackwelder (1987), Squires (1987) and Beu et al. (1990); and to Chamoidea by Ward (1992), Coan et al. (2000), Nevesskaja (2009), Bouchet et al. (2010) and Carter et al. (2011).
