Taxonomy
Nucula semen was named by Lea (1883) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; Gulf Coastal Plain.]. It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Nuculana semen by Conrad (1865); it was recombined as Leda semen by de Gregario (1890) and Harris (1919); it was recombined as Calorhadia semen by Palmer and Brann (1965) and Kosnik (2002).
