Taxonomy
Tornquistia occidentalis was named by Archbold (1980). Its type specimen is CPC 19127, a shell (Articulated shell), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is BMR GW78, Callytharra Springs, which is in a Sakmarian coastal siliciclastic in the Callytharra Formation of Australia.
