Taxonomy
Enoploceras was named by Hyatt in Zittel (1900) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Olen Tr Nori Sepkoski's reference number: 2,524,995]. Its type is Nautilus wulfeni.

It was reranked as Pleuronautilus (Enoploceras) by Kummel (1953).

It was assigned to Pleuronautilus by Kummel (1953); to Tainoceratidae by Teichert et al. (1964); and to Nautilida by Sepkoski (2002).
