Taxonomy
Asiomomys changbaicus was named by Wang and Li (1990). Its type specimen is IVPP V 8802, a mandible (right dentary fragment preserving the broken crown of P3, alveoli for P4-M1, and the crowns of M2-3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gonglantou Oil Shale Mine, which is in a Lutetian mire/swamp shale/coal in the Huadian Formation of China. It is the type species of Asiomomys.
