Ceraurinella nahanniensis was named by Chatterton and Ludvigsen (1976) [Hypotypes: GSC 43986-43995 (Ludvigsen, 1979).]. Its type specimen is GSC 40399, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil.
