Aegialodon dawsoni

Taxonomy
Aegialodon dawsoni was named by Kermack et al. (1965). Its type specimen is BMNH M23345, a tooth (left lower molar), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cliff End bonebed [Fairlight Cliffs, near Hastings], which is in a Valanginian estuary/bay conglomerate in the Wadhurst Clay Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Aegialodon.
