Pseudobeyrichiopsis gerryi was named by Crasquin-Soleau (1994). Its type specimen is GSC 106116 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GSC C-87090f (MO80/2f), Canada Lafarge Cement Quarry, Kamloops, which is in a Sakmarian marine limestone in Canada.
