Yacarerani boliviensis

Taxonomy
Yacarerani boliviensis was named by Novas et al. (2009). Its type specimen is MNK-PAL5063, a skeleton (Complete skeleton), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Amboro National Park, which is in a Campanian/Maastrichtian fluvial sandstone in the Cajones Formation of Bolivia.

Novas et al. 2009Notosuchian characterized by the following autapomorphies: nasals rostrally expanded above the external nares, palatines bearing a median sagittal crest, retroarticular process rounded and rostro-caudally short, jugal laterally expanded forming an ornamented prong at level of postorbital bar, incisiviforms separated from molariforms through a diastema, and molariform tooth rows rostrally convergent and almost in touch each other.
