Taxonomy
Pamphagopsis was named by Martynov (1925). It is not extant. It is the type genus of Pamphagopsidae.

It was synonymized subjectively with Aboilus by Carpenter (1992).

It was assigned to Pamphagopsidae by Martynov (1925); to Prophalangopsinae by Zeuner (1939); and to Aboilinae by Gorochov (1995).
