Taxonomy
Deanaspis was named by Hughes et al. (1975) [Sepkoski's age data: O Cara-l O Cara-m]. Its type is Deanaspis bedinanensis.

It was assigned to Marrolithinae by Dean (1983); to Asaphida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Trinucleidae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
