Taxonomy
Thaumatodryinus gracilis was named by Brues (1933). Its type specimen is no. 1138–2, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic amber, Konigsberg collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.
It was recombined as Harpactosphecion gracile by Olmi and Bechly (2001).
