Muricingulisporis chenquensis was named by Barrera (1992) [Especie actual afín: Pteris seniadnata Phil.]. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is CIRGEO Palin. 943: 29/98, a non-seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

V. D. Barrera 1992Espora trilete, cingulada. Lesura recta con labios, llegando cerca de la base del cíngulo. Cara proximal con tres muros (uno por lado), dispuestos paralelamente al contorno de la espora, próximos al cíngulo. Facetas irregularmente perforadas, a veces ornamentadas con pequeñas verrugas. Superficie distal reticuloide, con un engrosamiento subecuatorial que la delimita. Esculturación formada por la fusión de muros irregulares y escasas verrugas, originando un retículo irregular con lúmenes de ancho cercano al de los muros. Cíngulo liso, de espesor constante en toda la espora o ligeramente más delgado en las áreas radiales.
