Taxonomy
Eotrechalea was named by Wunderlich (2004). Its type is Eotrechalea annulata. It is the type genus of Eotrechaleinae.

It was assigned to Trechaleidae by Dunlop et al. (2013); and to Eotrechaleinae by Wunderlich (2004) and Wunderlich (2022).
