Taxonomy
Epeira troschelii was named by Bertkau (1878). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Rott (Von Dechen Bonn coll.), which is in a MP 30 lacustrine - large lignite in Germany.
It was recombined as Araneus troschelii by Dunlop et al. (2013).
