Taxonomy
Molinaranea mitnickii was named by Saupe et al. (2010). Its type specimen is KU-NHM-ENT DR-018, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber (KU coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
