Taxonomy
Elater berryi was named by Wickham (1929). Its type specimen is USNM 80474, an elytra, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is North of Jackson, Madison County, which is in a Bartonian pond claystone in the Cockfield Formation of Tennessee.
