Walkerithyris was named by Cox and Middlemiss (1978) [Sepkoski's age data: K Albi-l Sepkoski's reference number: 776]. It is not extant. Its type is Walkerithyris mendax.
It was assigned to Terebratulida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Sellithyridinae by Williams et al. (2006).
