Taxonomy
Seppo koponeni was named by Selden and Dunlop (2014). Its type specimen is MfN MA.A.2966, an exoskeleton, and it is a mold. Its type locality is Klein Lehmhagen pit, Grimmen (LGA collection), which is in a Toarcian offshore shale in Germany. It is the type species of Seppo.
