Anthocerisporis gandolfii was named by Zamaloa (2004) [Type locality. Beta Dell, Northeast ofTierra del Fuego, samples CB 8A, CB 9.
Stratigraphic horizon. Lower or middle Miocene.
Dimensions. Equatorial diameter (including spines) 49 (57) 71 um (13 specimens).]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Anthocerisporis europaeus Krutzsch, 1963, a microspore.

M. C. Zamaloa 2004 | Trilete spore, amb circular to convexly subtriangular. Sculpture consisting of spines, 1 to 4 um long, with tapered, truncated, bifurcated or trifurcated apices, and placed on surface ridges that form an irregular shallow reticulum. Sculpture differently developed on both hemispheres, the proximal hemisphere, especially close to the trilete rays and in the proximal pole, has more widely spaced and smaller elements than the distal one. Trilete mark distinct, rays extending to the equator, in part slightly elevated, up to 1.5 um thick. Sclerine 0.6 to 1.5 um. |
