Taxonomy
Archaeochrysa sanikwa was named by Archibald and Makarkin (2015). Its type specimen is RBCM.EH2014.033.0001.001, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Driftwood Canyon (RBCM collection), which is in a Ypresian lacustrine shale in Canada.
