Ammonites (Perisphinctes) championensis was named by Crick (1894). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Champion Bay, which is in a Bajocian carbonate limestone in the Newmarracarra Limestone Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Pseudotoites championensis by Arkell (1954).
