Praerosaria espibosensis

Taxonomy
Praerosaria espibosensis was named by Dolin and Lozouet (2004). Its type specimen is MNHN-IM-2000-3767, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Espibos, Gaas, which is in a Rupelian carbonate marl/sandstone in the Calcaire à Astéries Formation of France.

L. Dolin and P. Lozouet 2004La coquille solide mais peu calleuse, regulierement marginee, de taille moyenne, est tronconique, a galbe de profil subglobuleux. La spire est fortement saillante. La sole ventrale est regulierement convexe, I' ouverture est relativement etroite, regulierement arquee. Le canal siphonal, etroit et assez profond, est bien delimit<' ; il forme un pontet franc allonge et bien detache, fortement margin<' dorsalement. Le pli terminallamelleux est long et puissant, pratiquement horizontal, en position adaxiale ; il se prolonge par la lame interne verricale, courte et maigre, torse. La fossula aliforme est legerement concave, lisse et bordee, et l'aire columellaire est faiblement convexe. La levre interne parte 17 denticules columellaires, pour la plupart d'entre eux courts et serres, limites a !'angulation abrupte, les 6 denticules parietaux posterieurs s' allongeant legerement a cheval sur celle-ci et la sole ventrale. La callosite de I' extremite adapicale de la levre interne forme un bourrelet triangulaire massif. Le canal exhalant canalicule est nettement dejete adapicalement; il forme un pontet calleux "en bee", bien degage, fortement margine dorsalement. La levre externe calleuse, arrondie, finement marginee, a quart anterieur pince, relevee par rapport au plan de la sole ventrale, parte 26 denticules labraux minuscules, courts, regulierement espaces.
