Palmerara was named by Özdikmen (2009).

It was assigned to Trilobita by Novack-Gottshall (2003); and to Ptychopariidae by Özdikmen (2009).

Synonyms

Nyella was named by Palmer and Halley (1979) [non Oke, 1931, an insect (beetle). Sepkoski's age data: Cm lMid Sepkoski's reference number: 478. Named in Palmer and Halley 1979].

It was replaced with Palmerara by Özdikmen (2009).

It was assigned to Ptychopariidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Ptychopariida by Palmer and Halley (1979), Eddy and McCollum (1998) and Sepkoski (2002).
