Taxonomy
Borealarges patulus was named by Campbell and Chatterton (2007). Its type specimen is UA 9821, a pygidium, and it is a cast. Its type locality is Fauna k, Section AV4, Delorme Fm., Mackenzie Mts., which is in a Wenlock/Ludlow slope limestone/shale in the Delorme Formation of Canada.
