Aegicetus gehennae
Taxonomy
Aegicetus gehennae was named by Gingerich (2019). Its type specimen is CGM 60584, a partial skeleton (par- tial cranium, partial dentition, much of the vertebral column, a nearly complete rib cage, much of the forelimb, and much of the hind limb), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is WH-203, which is in a Priabonian coastal shale/sandstone in the Gehannam Formation of Egypt. It is the type species of Aegicetus.
