Taxonomy
Samokeros minotaurus was named by Solounias (1981). Its type specimen is PIM 99, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fossil collection from Samos Island in the IGPM, which is in a Miocene terrestrial horizon in Greece. It is the type species of Samokeros.
