Taxonomy
Carinostrobus foresmani was named by Baxter (1971). It is not extant. Its type locality is Middle Pennsylvanian of Kansas, which is in the Carboniferous of coal ball the Cabaniss Formation Kansas. It is the type species of Carinostrobus.
