Taxonomy
Omosoma garretti was named by Bardack (1976). Its type specimen is FMNH PF 3040, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Garret Ranch, which is in a Santonian carbonate chalk in the Niobrara Formation of Kansas.
