Taxonomy
Xenopholis carinatus was named by Davis (1887). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hakel (Tristram collection), which is in a Cenomanian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal carbonate in Lebanon. It is the type species of Xenopholis.
