Taxonomy
Oenonites wejstorpi was named by Eriksson (1997). Its type specimen is LO 7664 (right MI) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lickershamn 2, which is in a Sheinwoodian marine marl in the Hogklint Beds Formation of Sweden.

M. Eriksson 1997Right MI: Outer margin is straight to smoothly concave in the anterior part of the jaw; it tapers strongly below the ramus. Posteriormost part of the jaw turns right and is forked forming two rounded terminations. Insignificant ligament scar. Very narrow inner wing. Left MI: Subrectangular to subrounded ramus at about mid-length. Fairly wide inner wing. Posterior part of the jaw makes a left turn and is slightly forked, to a greater extent than in the right MI. Indistinct ligament scar. Very shallow posterior part of myocoele.
