Taxonomy
Cytherella australoamericana was named by Bertels (1968). Its type specimen is FCEN-I-M 202, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Huantraico (CP-6), which is in a Danian marine limestone in the Roca Formation of Argentina.
