Turanoceratops tardabilis
Taxonomy
Turanoceratops tardabilis was named by Nessov et al. (1989). Its type specimen is CCMGE No. 251/12457, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CBI-27, Dzharakuduk II, which is in a Turonian/Turonian terrestrial horizon in the Bissekty Formation of Uzbekistan.

Averianov 2009 | Differs from more derived ceratopsids in the presence of variably developed secondary ridges on the tooth crowns and only two or three teeth in each vertical dental file. Differs from Zuniceratops in the presence of double-rooted teeth and two or three teeth in each dental file. Differs from more basal neoceratopsians in the exclusion of the frontal from the orbital margin, presence of a shallow supracranial cavity complex, and double-rooted teeth.
