Taxonomy
Bucania angustata was named by Hall (1852). It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Trematonotus angustatus by Whiteaves (1895); it was recombined as Tremanotus angustata by Bassler (1915), Peel (1972) and Wagner (2023).
