Taxonomy
Turcica was named by Adams (1854) [Sepkoski's age data: T Eo-u R Sepkoski's reference number: 559]. It is extant. Its type is Turcica monilifera. It is the type genus of Turcicidae.

It was assigned to Eucyclinae by Wilson (1993); to Trochidae by Ladd (1966), Ladd (1972), Ladd (1982) and Todd (2001); to Archaeogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002); to Eucyclini by Kaim (2004); and to Turcicidae by Bandel (2010).
