Was originally "Carboniferous" for age, but Miller & Forbes (2001) note that it is early Wesphalian C in the Vestispora Atlantic Canada zone (= Torispora securis- Torispora laevigata Zone of western Europe & lower Torispora securis- Vestispora fenestrata Zone of Illinois.)
