When: Yoshii Formation, Miocene (23.0 - 5.3 Ma)

• formations cover unconformably the Paleozoic sedimentary rocks and crystalline shists

• formation-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: marginal marine; lithified sandstone and lithified siltstone

• Overlies Fukushima formation and underlies Itahana formation.
• The Yoshii formation is composed of alternation of sandstone and siltstone and sandy mudstone.
